Fall-Inspired Smoothie Bowl Recipe
Have you ever made your favorite smoothie recipes into a delicious smoothie bowl? Maggie Susac of Fit Meets Fab shared with us a fall inspired smoothie bowl – another healthy alternative to curb our pumpkin spice cravings. It combines some of our favorite fall flavors like pumpkin, cinnamon, apple, and sweet potato creating a healthy, hearty, and delicious fall-inspired smoothie bowl!
Ingredients
¼ cup organic pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie puree)
¼ cup unsweetened apple sauce
½ boiled sweet potato (pre-prepped or boil quickly)
1 large organic carrot, peeled and chopped
1 pitted date
1 handful greens (think organic spinach, kale & chard)
1 tbsp. nut butter (peanut butter, almond butter or cashew butter)
½ scoop vanilla protein powder
1 pinch of pumpkin spice, cinnamon and nutmeg
1 cup water
1 handful of ice
Directions: First, place the liquids and ice in the blender. Next, add the sweet potato, carrot, and greens. Pulse a few times in the blender. Add the apple sauce, pumpkin puree, pitted date, nut butter, spices & ½ scoop of protein powder and blend until smooth. Add more liquid or ice if needed. We like topping our bowls with nuts & seeds. Think pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, raw cashews, etc.! Then, enjoy!
